 \bf\huge\underline{\underline{ Given :- }}

  •  \bf m_{1} = 500 g

  •  \bf u_{1} = 200cm/s

  •  \bf m_{2} = 100 g

  •  \bf u_{2} = 100 cm/s

  • they collides each other

  • after collision they stick together

 \bf\huge\underline{\underline{ To \: Find:- }}

  • final velocities of spheres

  • Loss of Kinetic Energy

 \bf\huge\underline{\underline{ Answer :- }}

According to Law of Conservation of Momentum ,

  •  \bf m_{1}u_{1} +m_{2}u_{2} = m_{1}v_{1} + m_{2}v_{2}

  •  \bf v = v_{1} = v_{2}  Beacuse they stick together and have common velocity

  •  \bf v = \frac{m_{1}u_{1} +m_{2}u_{2}}{m_{1} + m_{2} } \\

  •  \bf\red{v = \frac{500×200 + 100×(-100) }{500+100}  = 150 cm/s } \\

 \rule{10cm}{0.05cm}

  •  \bf ∆E = \frac{m_{1}m_{2}}{2(m_{1}+m_{2})} (u_{1}²-u_{2}² ) \\

  • \bf ∆E = \frac{500×100}{2(500+100)} (200²-(-100)²) \\

  • \bf\red{ ∆E = 3.75×10^{6} erg}

 \rule{10cm}{0.05cm}

  • Final velocity = 150 cm/s

  • Loss of Kinetic Energy = 3.75 ×10⁶ erg
