hence current through the area is 2.2 mA.

given, current density (j) in an area of cross - section, A = (2i + 3j) cm² is J = (8i + 2j) A/m² then we have to find current through the area.

using formula, i = J.A

i = (8i + 2j) A/m² .(2i + 3j) cm²

= (8i + 2j) A/m² . (2i + 3j) × 10-⁴ m²

= (8 × 2 + 2 × 3) × 10-⁴ A

= (16 + 6) × 10-⁴ A

= 2.2 × 10-³ A

= 2.2 mA

hence current through the area is 2.2 mA.
