Q 46 - Q 50 are based on Case Study-2 Case Study-2: A company manufactures two types of sanitizers Alpha and Beta. The cost of the small bottle of Alpha sanitizer is Rs. 10 and for beta sanitizer is Rs. 12. In the month of June, the company sold total 1000 bottles and makes a total sale of Rs. 10,820. Seeing the great demand and short of supply, company decided to increase the price of both the sanitizer by Rs. 1. In the month of June, the company sold total 1000 bottles and makes a total sale of Rs. 10,820.

Company decided to increase the price of both the sanitizer by Rs. 1. In the next month i.e., July,

the company sold 2,500 bottles and total sales of Rs. 29,200.

To Find :

How many sanitizers of Alpha and Beta were sold in the month of June  

If the store sold 500 bottles of each type of sanitizer in June, what would be their sale

How many bottles of each type were sold in the next month when rate was increased

What percent of increase was found in alpha sanitizer in July as compared to June

In July, if total of 1050 bottles of each type were sold, what would be the sale

Solution:

Alpha sanitizer is Rs. 10   and sold  x

Then sale = 10x

beta sanitizer is Rs. 12  and sold y

Then sale = 12y

Total Bottles sold = 1000

=> x + y = 1000     Eq1

Total Revenue = 10,820

=> 10x + 12y  = 10820    Eq2

Eq2 - 10 * Eq1

=> 2y = 820

=> y = 410

=> x = 590

Correct option is (d) 590, 410

500 bottles of each type of sanitizer in June,

Then revenue = 500 * 10 + 500 * 12  =  11000  Rs

Correct option is  (d) Rs. 11,000

Rate in july  11 and 13 as increase of 1 rs

x + y = 2500

11x + 13y = 29200

on Solving x =1650 ,  y = 850

Correct option is  (d) 1650, 850

increase in alpha sanitizer from 590 to 1650  =   1650 - 590 =1060

percent of increase  = (1060/590) * 100 = 179.66 %

Correct option is  (c) 179.66%

In July, if total of 1050 bottles of each type were sold

= 1050 *11 + 1050 * 13  = Rs. 25,200

Correct option is   (b) Rs. 25,200
