Q. 5. Answer the following questions in brief :
(1) Describe the changes that take place in the temperatures from the surface of the earth to its centre

(2) Describe the changes that take place in the density of the earth from its surface to the centre.

Answer:

(1)The Temperature increases rapidly when going from the earth's surface (crust) to the centre of the earth (Inner core). ... on the surface if moderate, but as you go deeper and deeper to mantle the outer core and then the Inner core, the temoerature there is so hot that it is unbearable.

(2)Due to increase in pressure and presence of heavier materials like Nickel and Iron towards the centre, the density of earth's layers also gets on increasing towards the centre. The average density of the layers gets on increasing from crust to core and it is nearly 14.5g/cm3 at the very centre.
