1.A. The postmaster sent money to Lencho, to keep alive the trust of Lencho in God. As he read Lencho's letter he grew serious and wished he had the same faith in God. ... He signed it as God so as not to shake Lencho's faith in him.He wished that he could also have the same faith in God. So, he asked the other employees to contribute some money and he himself gave a part of his salary. After he collects all the contribution, he puts that into an envelope and posts it to Lencho's address. He signs the letter as God because he doesn't want to shake lencho's faith in God.

2.A. Mandela felt very privileged to welcome the international leaders at the swearing - in ceremony because not too long ago, the South Africans were considered outlaws. He, thus, thanks all of them for having come to witness the historical ceremony. This was a gesture of international recognition to a newly born free democratic nation and it could be considered as a common victory for justice, peace and human dignity.

3.A. The 'dust of snow' means the fine particles or flakes of snow. The sudden shower in the form of the dust of snow changed the poet's mood. The poet's mood changed from sad to happy. He felt refreshed and wanted to enjoy the rest of the day.The poet’s mood changed from that of disappointment to happiness. He was holding the day in disappointment when this dust of snow fell on him and this effortless little thing brought him some joy.

4.A. Mrs Pumphrey is worried about Tricki because he is unwell. He has refused to eat food and had bouts of vomiting. She feels that he is suffering from a serious health issue such as malnutrition.Pumphrey didn't give Tricki plenty of exercise. She said that Tricki had little walks with him. The gardener, Hodgkin used to play ring-throw with him but he had to stop playing with as he suffered with muscular pain in the back.

5.A. The thief thought that on discovering the theft, Anil’s face would show a touch of sadness. The sadness would not be for the loss of money, but for the loss of trust.

6.A. The woman in the Control Centre looked at the narrator strangely because the narrator asked him about the black aeroplane and she saw no one except the narrator’s in the sky during the storm. Even the radar showed only the narrator’s plane that night in the sky. And according to her no other pilot was flying on that stormy day. The narrator went to the woman in the control room and inquired about any other pilot to be flying with him.
