Q.5) Solve the following word problems:
1.The perimeter of a rectangle is 40cm. The length of the rectangle is more than double its
breadth by 2.Find length and breadth.

perimeter=40cm.

let breadth be 'x'

then. length=2x+2

perimeter of rectangle=2(length+breadth)

40=2(x+2x+2)

40=2x+4x+4

40-4=6x

therefore 6x=36

x=6

therefore,. length=2*6+2=12+2=14cm

breadth=6cm
