Required Solution :-
- Radius of circle is 10 cm
- Time in which particle is completing the circle is 4 seconds.
As we know that distance covered by the particle would be the circumference of the circle.
Therefore,
- Distance (d) = 2πr
- Distance (d) = 2 × 22/7 × 10
- Distance (d) = 62.8
Now, calculating the linear speed as we know that,
- v = 2πr / t
Here,
- v is linear speed
- r is radius
- t is time taken
Here we'll be applying the values but value of '2πr" is "62.8" we'll substitute it here !
- v = 62.8 / 4
- v = 15.7 cm/s
As we all know that if the acceleration of the particle is towards the centre then the magnitude of acceleration us calculated by the formula :
- a = v² / r
Here,
- v is linear speed
- r is radius
Therefore, substituting the values :
- a = (15.7)² / 10
- a = 246.49 / 10
- a = 24.649 cm/s²
Therefore, magnitude of linear acceleration is 24.649 cm/s²
