(Q.5)Two cells of 2 V each are connected in parallel.An external resistance of 0.5 ohm is connected in series to the junction of two parallel resistors of 6 ohm and 2 ohm and then to the common terminal of the battery through each resistor, as shown in figure.(i)total resistance of the circuit is-- *

Here in this case , the equivalent resistance of the circuit is ,

Req=6×26+2+0.5=1.5+0.5=2 ohmSo the potential difference applied across the circuit is V=2 VSo the current through the circuit is ,I=V/Req=2/2=1 ASo the current through the 6 ohm resistor is ,I6=I×26+2=1×28=14=0.25
