Q 5. You are provided with the mixture of sand, salt, chalk powder and pebbles. State the methods you would use to separate these components from the mixture.

Answer:By the method of sublimation,camphor on heating directly gets converted into gaseous state from solid state. Hence we can separate sand from common salt and chalk powder

Add rest of the mixture in water ,common salt will dissolve in water and chalk powder will settle down in the beaker

Separate the chalk powder either by sedimentation and decantation or by filteration

By boiling ,water will evaporate and common salt will remain
