a) Homogeneous mixture : A mixture in which different constituents are mixed uniformly is called a Homogeneous mixture.

Examples: Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc , sugar Solution , etc.

Heterogeneous mixture : A mixture in which various constituents are not mixed uniformly is called a Heterogeneous mixture.

Examples: Oil in water , mixture of Sand and sugar, etc.

b) Aqueous solution : A solution in which water is the solvent, is called an aqueous solution.

Examples: Salt in water , Sugar in water , etc.

Non - Aqueous solution : The solution in which other solvents dissolve the solutes other than water is called a Non - Aqueous solution.

Examples: Rubber in Benzene, Sulphur in Carbon disulfide,etc

c) Saturated Solution: A solution which cannot dissolve any more solute at a given temperature is known as a Saturated Solution.

Unsaturated Solution : A solution which can dissolve some more solute at a given temperature is known as an Unsaturated Solution.
