Given :  A.P. 17, 14, 11

numbers (x-2), (4x-1), (5x+2) are in A.P.

To Find :  6th Term of AP

Solution:

A.P. 17, 14, 11,

a = 17

d = 14 - 17  = - 3

aₙ = a + (n - 1) d

=> a₆ = a + (6 - 1) d

=> a₆  = 17 + (5)(-3)

=> a₆  = 17 - 15

=> a₆ = 2

6th term = 2

(x-2), (4x-1), (5x+2) are in A.P.

=> x - 2 + 5x + 2  = 2(4x - 1)

=> 6x  = 8x - 2

=> 2x = 2

=> x = 1

Terms are - 1 , 3 ,  7  

a = - 1

d = 4
