Mean proportion of two numbers means square root of product of two numbers.
two methods to solve this
let the mean proportion be 'm'
m2 =8*16
m2 = 128
m = √128
m = √8*8*2
m = 8√2
second
Let the mean proportion be x...
therefore, 1.25 : x = x : 0.45
x^2 = 1.25 × 0.45
on solving this, u'll get :
=> \bold{x = 0.75}x=0.75
So, the mean proportion between 1.25 and 0.45 is 0.75....
