Q 6. In the given figure, the card on which a coin rests is flicked with a push.

i. What do you observe in this case and why?

ii. State the law involved in this case

iii. What will be your observation if the above coin is replaced by a heavy five rupee coin? Justify your answer.

Explanation:

i) We can observe from the case that, as we flick the card with a push, the coin, which was at rest will fly with the card. Because a object tends to remain at rest unless an unbalanced force is applied.

ii) This is the 1st law of motion.

iii) By the observation, we will conclude the same case which happened in the first case ( the one rupee coin).

Because, Newton's third law is stated as, an object tends to remain at rest unless an unbalanced force is applied.

The coin was at rest, and we had applied an force the tha card ,which was also at rest, so the card will move out but the coin will fall on the glass(as it has no other surface left ,so it will fall on the glass)as we had not applied any force on the coin.
