Practice makes man perfect means to do certain things repeatedly and perfectly to achieve mastery in something. Thus the proverb stresses out the importance of continuous practice to achieve perfection.

We all know that there is no shortcut to become mastery in any field. To achieve perfection we need to constantly practice to improve our skills and knowledge then only we can obtain success. As we all know that when a cricketer  practise a short many times, only then he is able to achieve the perfect short. Same is the case with the students who practise sums day and night before Maths exam. A singer who rehearse for many days before actual performance. Only when you practice you can know about mistakes and by removing those mistakes you become expert.
