The speed of father is 24 km/h (option d is the correct answer)

Given,

father picks up his child at 3:30 PM

from school

One day child left at 2:30 pm

The Speed of the child is 6km/h

they

reach home 24 min. early.

To Find,

Find the speed of father

Solution,

According to the question the speed of the child is 6km/h

let us assume that father picks his child 24/2 = 12 mins before 3:30 pm.

so, the total distance cover father is:

12 mins= distance covered by son in (60-12)= 48mins.

Now,

Let consider T = total time is taken by father

t= total time is taken by child

and,. S= speed of father

s= speed of child

We have to find the value of S = speed of father

Therefore, T/t= S/s

or, 12/48 = S/6

or, ¼= S/6

or, S= 24 km/h

Hence, The speed of father is 24 km/h
