It was a summer night. I was sleeping on the roof of my house. I was awakened by the cries of

Fire! Fire! I got up and looked out. Mr. Mehta's house was on fire. I saw a huge flames rising

out of his house. A lot of people were assembled there. Some were throwing water on the fire

while others were throwing sand to douse the fire. A few people were taking out goods. The

youngest son was sleeping on the terrace and was caught in the fire. He was shouting for help.

I saw a man taking ladder and climbing up to the terrace. He took the boy in his arms and

climbed down the stairs. The boy's mother thanked the man and blessed him. Soon the fire

brigade arrived. The firemen started to douse the fire. They fought with the fire for one hour

and then managed to bring it under control. The house was completely burnt by then.

Thankfully, there was no loss of life.
