Required Answer:-

Types of triangle:-

  • Isosceles triangle
  • Equilateral triangle
  • Scalene triangle

Isosceles triangle: A triangle with at least two sides is equal.

Equilateral triangle: A triangle with all its sides equal.

Scalene triangle: If all the three sides of a triangle are unequal (if the sides are of different lengths).

Types of quadrilateral:-

  • Trapezium
  • Isosceles trapezium
  • Parallelogram
  • Rectangle
  • Rhombus

Trapezium: A quadrilateral in which one pair of opposite sides are parallel whereas the other pair of opposite sides are non-parallel.

Isosceles trapezium: If the non-parallel sides of a trapezium are equal.

Parallelogram: A quadrilateral in which both the pairs of opposite sides are equal.

Rectangle: A quadrilateral in which every angle measures 90° (a right angle)

Rhombus: A quadrilateral in which all sides are equal. In a rhombus, diagonals bisect the angles at vertex.

More Information:-

A quadrilateral is a four sided closed figure.

The attached figure shows a quadrilateral ABCD and closed figure which has,

  • Four sides : AB, BC, CD and DA
  • Four verticles : vertex A, vertex B, vertex C and vertex D
  • Four angles : ∠ABC, ∠BCD, ∠CDA and ∠DAB
  • Four pairs of adjacent sides : AB and DC ; BC and CD ; DA and AD
  • Two pairs of opposite sides : AB and DC ; BC and AD

A triangle is a plane closed figure bounded by three line segments.

In the attached figure, the line segments AB, BC and CA are the sides of the triangle ABC. (ΔABC)
