Q.8 - Area of the rectangular field is ( x^2 -25^2)m^2. If the length of the field is (x + 5),
find the width.​

Answer:

Let the width of the rectangular field be y.

Area of a rectangle = length × width

= (x+5)×y

Given--> area = x^2-25^2

=(x-5)×(x+5) [a^2-b^2 = (a+b)×(a-

b)]

So, (x-5)×(x+5) = (x+5)×y

The term (x+5) will get cancelled on both sides.

y = (x-5)

That is the width of the rectangular field is (x-5).
