Base unit - It is a fundamental unit that is defined arbitrarily and not by combination of other units.
Derived unit - It is a type of unit which is derived from fundamental units.

THE CHOOSEN STANDARD OF MEASUREMENT OF A QUANTITY WHICH HAS ESSENTIALLY THE SAME NATURE AS THAT OF THE PHYSICAL QUANTITY IS CALLED THE UNIT OF QUANTITY.

DERIVED UNITS:-
ANY PHYSICAL QUANTITY WHICH CAN BE DERIVED FROM THE FUNDAMENTAL PHYSICAL QUANTITY AND IT UNITS IS CALLED IN DERIVED UNITS.
