Answer:-

Given:

Initial Velocity (u) = 20 m/s

Final Velocity (v) = 25 m/s

Time (t) = 4 s.

Mass of the car (m) = 1100 kg.

We know that,

Force (F) = Mass * acceleration.

Acceleration (a) = (v - u) / t

→ a = (25 - 20) / 4

→ a = 5/4 m/s²

Hence,

Force applied (F) = 1100 * 5/4

→ F = 1375 N

Therefore, the force applied by the engine is 1375 N.

Additional Information :

Force:

  • It is the push or pull of an Object.

  • It is a vector quantity [ has both direction and magnitude. ]

  • Force = mass * acceleration

  • It's S.I unit is Newton (N) and C.G.S unit is dyne (dyn).

  • 1 N = 10⁵ dyn.
