Explanation:

a=4.9 m/s^2, t=2

v=u + at

=4.9 * 2

= 9.8 m/s

Height at this point

h=1/2 at^2

=0.5*4.9*4

=9.8 m

The stone will attain further height s

1/2mv^2= mgs ; s=h

s=v^2/2g

=4.9 m

Therefore the greatest height reached by stone above the ground

H=h+s

=9.8+4.9

=14.7 m
