Answer:

a)A pure substance has a fixed melting point or boiling point at constant pressure. The purity of a substance can be tested by checking its melting point or boiling point

b)Though alloys are homogeneous mixtures which cannot be separated by physical methods but they are considered to be a mixture because they are constituted by more than one kind of pure form of matter. Moreover, they have an uniform proportion throughout the matter.

hope this will help u:)

properties of a substance to check its purity are:--->

  1. if impurity is added to the substance then it either increase or decrease its boiling point . so by checking its boiling point we know that substance is pure or impure.
  2. melting point is also increased or decreased by hating impurities in the substance so second factor is also checking its melting point we know that substance is pure or impure.

  • Alloy is considered as homogeneous mixture because it is made up of two or more different pure matel .though it is not seperated easily by physical methods .
