Q:-A particle moves in a circle with O as centre and AO=OB=5cm,as radius, as shown in figure. It starts A. Calculate:
(a) The distance covered
(b) The displacement when it reaches B.

a  : 900 cm

b :   10 cm

Explanation:

a : distance covered in a circular path is equal to:

       S = r * theta

        S =  5 cm * 180              :- angle of semicircle is 180

                                                         radius given = 5 cm

         S = 900 cm

b :   displacement = d = O A + O B

            d = 5  cm + 5 cm

             d = 10 cm
