Q. A ray of light is incident on the boundary of two media water and air and there is a bending of the light ray while passing through water as shown in figure.
a) Which medium has a higher optical density here?
b) In which of the two media light has more vclocity? Give reason.

Explanation:

a) water has more density than air. so water has also have higher optical density compared to air.

a) water has more density than air. so water has also have higher optical density compared to air.b) light will have more velocity in air than water.

a) water has more density than air. so water has also have higher optical density compared to air.b) light will have more velocity in air than water. light is nothing but small particles called photons... since water is denser than air , so water has more particle density . so photons will get more disturbance while travelling through water compared to that of in air. so light will have more velocity in air since less disturbance in its way..
