• Depth of the flour on the tank = 7 cm
Explanation :-
Given
• Length of a rectangular tin = 20 cm
. Breadth of a rectangular tin = 12 cm Volume of flour the rectangular tin contains = 1680 cm 3
To find
The depth of the flour in the tin
Knowledge required :-
Formula of volume of rectangle :
Volume of rectangle = |x b × h
where,
• l = length of the rectangle
• b = breadth of the rectangle =
•h height (depth) of the rectangle
Solution
Substitute the values in the formula of volume of rectangle,
- Volume of rectangular tank = Ibh
→ 1680 = 20 × 12 x h
→ 1680 = 240 x h
→ 1680/240 = h
+ 7 = h
Depth of the flour on the tank = 7 cm
