Q. a rope makes 140 rounds of the circumference of a cylinder, the radius of whose base is14cm. how many times can the same rope go rouund a cylinder with radius 20cm ?

Length of rope = a

Circumference of 1st cylinder's base = 2 x pie x 14.

Circumference of 2nd cylinder' base = 2 x pie x 20.

Assume that the rope goes around 2nd cylinder T times.

You have 2 equations as below:

a = 140 x 2 x pie x 14

a = T x 2 x pie x 20.

Solve for a and T, you will get T = 98
