Q. A square sheet of paper of side 22cm is rolled to form a cylinder. Find the radius of cylinder.

Side of square piece of paper = 22 cm If we fold the paper the one side of the paper becomes height and other side becomes circumference of the base of a cylinder Height of the cylinder (h) = 22 cm Circumference of base of a cylinder = 22 cm ⇒ 2πr = 22 cm ⇒ 2 × (22/7) × r = 22 cm ⇒ r = 7/ 2 ⇒ r = 3.5 cm ∴ Radius of the cylinder R = 3.5 cm Now, Volume of the cylinder = πr2h

= (22/7) × (3.5)2 × 22 = 847 c
