Q. A uniform disc of mass 5 kg has a radius of 0.5 m. Calculate its MI
about an axis passing through its circumference and perpendicular to its plane.​

we know

we knowmoment of inertia of disc through it's centre is MR^2/2

to find out the,the centre of mass through it's circumference use, parallel axis theorem....

moment of inertia,hrough it's circumference=moment of intertia of axix at centre+MR^2

moment of inertia=Mr^/2 +Mr^2

put the value of M and r

moment of Inertia through it's circumference =5×0.25/2 +5×.25

=1.25×(1/2+1)

=1.25×3/2

=.675×3=3.225
