Q. A watch is marked at Rs1150. During off season a discount is given and it is sold for Rs1100. Find the discount percent allowed.

$Watch \: price= rs 1150 \\ Discount= rs 1000$

$Discount \: percent = \frac{amount \: of \: difference}{original \: amount } \times 100$

So,       

$discount \% = \frac{150}{1150} \times 100$

     

$= \frac{15}{ 115 } \times 100$

 $= 0.3(approximate) × 100$       $= 13\%$
