General concept:
• If the statement is negative, the tag must be positive. Whereas, if the statement given is positive, the tag must be negative.
• If the statement has a modal, we repeat the same in the tag.
[ Eg.:
He can do it, can't he?
We should have dinner, shouldn't we?
He is happy, isn't he?]
• If somebody/someone, everyone/everybody, nobody/no one, is the subject of the sentence, then we use "they" as in question tag.
[Eg. :
Everybody praised him, didn't they? ]
• When there is usage of the combo: "there + be" in the sentence, we use "there" as in the tag.
[ Eg. :
There was heavy rainfall, wasnt there? ]
