Amanda wants to live in a world of her own whims and fancies without the interference of an adult. At first she wants to become an orphan then a Rapunzel and then a mermaid gliding over green sea. This shows that Amanda is moody and sulking. She finds the reality hard and indulge herself into daydreams.
