Q. Analyze the dominance of the Prussian measures and practices on the German unification.
Answers
Answer:
After the failure of Frankfurt Parliament by Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm IV, Prussia took the charge of unification of Germany. Otto Von Bismarck , the chief Minister of Prussia became the architect of this process. He was a diplomatic man who tactfully defeated Austria, France and Denmark in three wars between seven years. In Austria-Prussia war (1866), Prussia gained the territory of Tyrol, Sudetenland, Bohemia, Schelswig and northern Alpine regions of Germany. In Danish-Prussia war, Prussia gained the western part of Germany. And in Franco-Prussia War (1871), Prussia gained Ruhr, western part of Rhineland and southern parts of Germany. All these new won regions were combined together with Prussia to form a united Germany. This completed the process of Unification of Germany. This is the reason why Otto Von Bismarck is known as 'the man of blood and iron'. In January 1871, Kaiser William I was proclaimed the king of Germany. Also Otto Von Bismarck was made the Chancellor of North Confederation. On 18th January, 1871 , a united German nation under Kaiser William I was proclaimed.
