Given: A sector of 90°; diameter 14 cm; pi = 22/7.

To find: The area of it.

Answer:

We have the diameter which is 14 cm.

It's radius will be:

\tt \dfrac{d}{2}\ =\ \dfrac{14}{2}\ =\ 7\ cm.

Formula to find the area of a sector:

\tt \dfrac{\theta}{{360}^{\circ}}\ \times\ \pi\ \times\ r^2

Using the values we have in the formula,

\tt \implies\ \dfrac{{90}^{\circ}}{{360}^{\circ}}\ \times\ \dfrac{22}{7}\ \times\ 7\ \times\ 7\\\\\\=\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \dfrac{1}{4}\ \times\ 22\ \times\ 7\\\\\\=\ \ \ \ \ \ \dfrac{77}{2}\\\\\\=\ \ \ \ \ \ 38.5\ cm

Therefore, the area of the sector is 38.5 cm.
