3/5=3×15/5×15=45/75
2/3=2×25/3×25=50/75
therefore the number must lie between 45/75 and 50/75
therefore 50/75 is the number which doesn't lie between 3/5 and 2/3

Heyaa..

As we check the options ..we find that all the denominators are 75...So let's change the denominator of the given rational numbers into 75..

And before that let's make their denominator equal for which we need LCM..

LCM of 5 and 3 = 15

 \frac{3}{5} \times \frac{3}{3} = \frac{9}{15}

And

 \frac{2}{3} \times \frac{5}{5} = \frac{10}{15}

Now let's make the denominator of the resultant rationals into 75... for which we need to multiply them with 5 i.e..., 5 * 15 = 75

 = > \frac{9}{15} \times \frac{5}{5} = \frac{45}{75}

And

 = > \frac{10}{15} \times \frac{5}{5} = \frac{50}{75}

Now we can find easily that the rational that does not lie between

 \frac{45}{75} \: and \: \frac{50}{75} \: is \: \frac{50}{75}

Therefore the answer is option D

Hope it helps...

And here CutieBarbie :)
