1):Burning is a chemical change as new substance is formed with new properties and it cannot be reversed.

2):Any substance which is easily available and burns in air at a moderate rate, producing a large amount of heat energy, without leaving behind any undesirable residue is called fuel. Example: wood, charcoal, petrol, kerosene, etc.

3):Glass, concrete, mud, carbon dioxide and water are an example of some substances which do not burn. These substances are also called non-combustible substances.

4):Cotton is highly flammable. It catches fire easily and burns quickly. Silk and linen will burn almost as easily as cotton and burn rapidly. Rayon, acetate and triacetate are as highly flammable as cotton.

5):When the magnesium metal burns it reacts with oxygen found in the air to form Magnesium Oxide. A compound is a material in which atoms of different elements are bonded to one another. Oxygen and magnesium combine in a chemical reaction to form this compound
