Q.Crystalline solids are anisotropic in nature. What does this statement mean?

Anisotropic means that property of crystalline solids due to which refractive index; Thermal conductivity and electric conductivity etc.. are not equal in all directions. It all depends on the symmetry of unit cell of the crystall.
