Digestion in amoeba is intracellular taking place within the cell. The food taken in remains in a food vacuole or gastric vacuole formed by the cell membrane and small part of the cytoplasm. The vacuoles are transported deeper into the cells by cytoplasmic movements. Here they fuse with lysosomes that contain enzymes.

✒️ Amoeba has irregular shape. It enlarges it shape and takes the food inside by the help of pseudopodia (false feet). Then this food enters in Amoeba's body and in the body of amoeba many enzymes are present and it acts on that food then the food breakdown into small pieces and absorbed by the body. After then the rest of food helps to regenerate the Amoeba's body and helps to repair the damaged part. After that the rest of the food particles are thrown outside the body and hence it completes it digestion.
