It's composed of 2 complementary strands wound around each other in a double helix.
Each single DNA strand is composed of repeating nucleotides which are made of 3 components - phosphate group, pentose sugar arranged lengthwise and a nitrogeneous base.
These two strands form a ladder like arrangement.
