Answer:

For fixing the metal rim on a wooden wheel of a cart, the metal rim is made slightly smaller than the wooden wheel. On heating, the rim expands and fits onto the wheel. Cold water is then poured over the rim, which contracts and fits tightly onto the wheel.

Answer:

A metal rim is made slightly smaller in diameter than a wooden wheel. It is then heated to expand and placed around the wooden wheel to fit easily. Finally, cold water is poured on the wheel, which causes the metal rim to contact and grip the wheel tightly.
