8, 16, 24, ......., 296

The above multiples of 8 between 1 and 300 are in an AP.

So, we can say that,

  • a = 8
  • d = 16-8 = 8
  • an = 296

To find:-

n (number of multiples)

Solution:-

We know,

an = a + (n-1) d

⇒296 = 8 + (n-1)8

⇒296-8 = (n-1)8

⇒288 = (n-1)8

⇒288/8 = (n-1)

⇒36 = n-1

⇒n = 36 + 1

∴So, there are 37 multiples of 8 between 1 and 300.
