Q. Find the point on the x axis which is equidistant from the points (7,6) and (-3,4).

correct answer is

let A(7,6) AND B(-3,4) be the given points.

ALSO ON X axis ,y axis is 0 and we have to find x axis so

LET P(k.0) should be point equidistant from A and B

NOW

(PA)2 = (PB)2

= (7-k)2 + (6-0)2 = (k+3)2 + (0-4)2

after opening the squares and cutting we get

=> 60 = 20k

=> k=3

so the points are (3,0)
