In desert the work of wind is effective because there is little vegetation or moisture to bind the loose surface materials. It results in erosion and displacement of materials easily.

Answer:

Wind is more effective at erosion in arid regions because in humid regions smaller particles are held together by the moisture in the soil and by plant roots from the vegetation. Eventually, most of the smaller particles will have been removed and the rockier surface left behind is called desert pavements.
