A × 4 = E or A = E/4

B ÷ 4 = E or B = E × 4

C + 4 = E or C = E - 4

D - 4 = E or D = E + 4

A + B + C + D = 100

by putting the value of A, B, C, D, we get

(E/4) + (E × 4) + (E - 4) + (E + 4) = 100

Multiplying both the sides by 4, we get

E+4×(E×4)+4×(E-4)+4×(E+4)=4×100

or, E+16×E+4×E-16+4×E+16=400

Adding E terms and 16 and -16 get cancel, we get

25E = 400

or, E = 400/25 = 16.

E = 16.
