Q(ii). Irfan's team is still at the ticket counter and they want to reach kids park. What is the shortest distance that they can travel? (One unit= 100m)
(Hint: -use property of right angles triangle and Pythagoras theorem)

Q(iii). After enjoying at Science Explorium, John's team went to Energy park. What shortest distance they covered? (One unit= 100m)

Q(iv). Location of bus parking is reflection of location of car parking in y-axis. Find two locations which are exact reflection of each other in x-axis.

Given : Layout plan of science city , (One unit= 100m)

To find : shortest distance traveled from ticket counter  to kids park.

shortest distance from Science Explorium, to Energy park

Solution:

. Irfan's team is at ticket counter (0,0)

want to reach kids park.  (2 , 2)

minimum distance = √(2 - 0)² + (2-0)²  = 2√2 units

1 unit= 100m

Hence shortest distance to travel for irfan team from ticket counter to kids parks = 2√2 * 100  = 200√2 m

Science Explorium,  ( 1, 4)

Energy park = (-2.4)

Distance = √(-2 - 1)² + (4-4)²  = 3 units

1 unit= 100m

shortest distance  covered by john's team from science explorium to energy park = 3 * 100  = 300 m

Location of Car parking (3 , -1) & Dome theater ( 3, 1) are exact reflection of each other in x-axis

(3,-1 )   &  ( 3 , 1)

in reflection of x -axis x axis remain same and y axis sign changes
