Answer:

The electrolyte is molten Al2O3 + Na3AlF6 + CaF2 , the melting point of Al2O3 alone is 2977 celcius so Na3AlF6 is added to lower the melting point of the electrolyte even after that to bring the mixture into molten form initial heating is required
