bc = bd+dc

bc= 5+dc

in ∆ABC

angle B = 90°

ab^2 + bc^2 = ac^2

12^2 + bc^2 = (√544)^2

144 + bc^2 = 544

bc^2 = 544-144

bc^2 = 400

bc = √400

bc = 20

bc = bd + dc

dc = bc - bd

dc = 20 - 5

dc = 15

therefore ,

dc = 15
