In the given fig EQ=3.5cm
DC = 23.1cm , AB = 14cm. Calculate EF and AC, if AB parallel to EF parallel to DC​

Given : fig EG=3.5cm  GC = 10.5 cm DC = 23.1cm , AB = 14cm.  AB || EF || DC

To find : Length of EF & AC

Solution:

In triangle EFG and CDG

∠EFG = ∠CDG    EF ║ CD

∠ EGF = ∠CGD  (vertical opposite angle )

=>  Δ EFG ≈  Δ CDG

=> GE/GC =  EF/CD

=> 3.5/10.5 =  EF/23.1

=>  EF = 7.7 cm

in ΔABC   EF║ AB

=> EF/AB = EC/AC

EC = GE + GC = 3.5 + 10.5 = 14

=> 7.7/14 = 14/AC

=> AC = 14 * 14 / 7.7

=> AC = 25.45 cm
