Agriculture and industry are not exclusive of each other, rather they are interdependent on each other.
1)Agriculture provides the raw materials for most of the industries like textiles, rubber, sugar and industries offer the processing destination for the agricultural output.
2)If the agricultural sector is affected, its resultant effects can be seen in the industrial sector and vice versa. The agro industries in India have given a major boost to agriculture by raising its productivity. They depend on the latter for raw materials and sell their products such as irrigation pumps, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides, plastic and PVC pipes, machines and tools etc. to the farmers.
3)The competitiveness of the manufacturing industry has helped in increasing the productions abut have also made the production process very efficient.

Agriculture and industry are not exclusive of each other.

They move hand in hand. The following examples support the statement.

(i) The agro-based industries have given a major boost to agriculture by raising its productivity.

(ii) The agro-based industries depend on agriculture for raw materials and sell their products such as fertilisers, insecticides, irrigation pumps, PVC pipes, machines and tools, etc to the farmers.

(iii) The industrial sector provides employment to the excess labour (labours who are actually disguised unemployed) in the agriculture sector.

Thus, development and competitiveness of manufacturing industry has not only assisted agriculturists in increasing their production but also made production process very efficient. Thus, it can be concluded the agriculture and industy move hand-in-hand.
