From the given options option (a) is correct. The height of plant with genotype AAbb will be 43 cm.

Explanation:

Genotype

It is the genetic make up of an organism which shows the gene contribution for a particular trait.

According to the question the tallest plant which would have the genotype AABB has height 56cm and that of shortest plant with genotype aabb is 30cm high.

The plant with genotype AAbb has contribution of only two dominant genes AA which will make more protein, required for height, than other two recessive genes bb which synthesise protein in least quantity.

Hence the height will be the mean of both tallest and shortest plants for the plant of genotype AAbb.

Therefore for the given question option 'a' is correct.
