✰Aluminium metal (in the form of alloys) is used to make aeroplanes.

✰Iron, copper, and aluminium metals are used for making cooking utensils.

✰Aluminium metal is used for making electric cables and over-head electric transmission lines.

✰Mercury metal is used for making thermometers.

✰Silver and gold metals are used for making jewelleries.

✰Oxygen is a non-metal which is used by plants and animals for breathing. It is also used in the process of burning (or combustion) of fuels in our homes.

✰Chlorine is a non-metal which is used in the purification of water.

✰Iodine is a non-metalwhich is used for making a purple- coloured solution called tincture iodine which is used as an antiseptic on cuts and wounds.

✰Sulphur and phosphorus are non-metals which are used in fireworks.
